What affects the cost of CCTV installation in the UAE

Two quotations for the same building can differ a lot. Usually that is because they include different things. Here is what drives the price.

Number and type of cameras

Each camera position adds the camera, a bracket, a cable run and labour. Fixed cameras cost far less than PTZ or ANPR cameras, so a design that uses special cameras only where needed keeps cost down.

Cabling distance and routes

Cabling is often a third or more of the job. Long runs, high ceilings, external walls and the need for new containment all add cost. Reusing existing routes saves money.

Recording and retention

The longer you keep footage and the higher the resolution, the more storage you need. Where an authority sets a minimum retention period, storage must be sized to meet it.

Brand and features

Analytics such as people counting, line crossing or face capture add cost. They are worth it only where someone will use them.

Maintenance after installation

An annual maintenance contract spreads the cost of upkeep and catches failed cameras and drives before you need the footage.
